A very easy to grow ornamental ginger with exotic, vibrant red-orange, waxy blooms that top glossy green foliage gently spiraled along thick, upright stems. These perennials reproduce through underground stems (rhizomes) and perform best in rich, moist soil although they are quite drought tolerant. Spiral gingers thrives well in part-sun, filtered sun, or shade. Cold winters in North and Central Florida will cause them to go dormant in the winter, but they return with the warm weather. Costus woodsonii , grows to 3 to 4 feet tall. From late winter to early spring, plants produce bright red bracts from which individual orange-yellow, flowers emerge. Red tower ginger also boasts very fuzzy leaves. PLANT MAYBE SHIPPED BARE ROOTS You will not receive the exact plant as shown in pictures. Blooming pictures are for presentation only .
