Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Francesco Allegrini’ after ‘G. Zocchi’. Flaminio Allegrini was a 17th c. painter from Gubbio. He was the son of: Francesco Allegrini da Gubbio (1587–1663), an Italian painter of the Baroque period. Giuseppe Zocchi (ca.?1711–1767) was an Italian painter and printmaker, active in Florence, and best known for his vedute of the city. Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: ‘Monsig.re Iacopo Guidi’ – Portrait of Jacopo Guidi. Jacopo Guidi (Volterra; 1514-1588) was an Italian catholic theologian. Condition: Fair, given age. Thin paper spots in lower part of print and text. Tear in left bottom and lower left part of image (incl. paper loss), reinforced using contemporary paper backed with acid free archival tape. Trimmed just inside plate mark. Top left corner trimmed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
