On offer: an original (i.e. not a later reproduction) attractive and sought after print “Amphibia. Genus Hydrus, g. Langaya, g. Acrochordius”, showing sea snakes. The print shows: 1. H. Colubrinus (Colubrine Hydra), 2. H. Bicolor (Black-Backed Hydrus), 3. L. Nasuta (Snowted Langaya), 4. A. Dubius (Doubtful Acrochordius).”. Offered with fine hand colouring. DATE PRINTED : 1809, dated on the print. SIZE : The printed area including titles is approximately 17.5 x 23 cm (7 x 9 inches) plus margins with a blank back (medium). ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER : Engraved by Milton. PROVENANCE: Published 1802-20 by Longman, Hurst, Rees & Orme for “The Cyclopædia: or, Universal dictionary of arts, sciences, and literature” By Abraham Rees.
