This year, we decided to make some new bunny houses that are portable so kids ( or adults) can carry their bunnies wherever they wish. I created the bunny house from good quality felt and used a blanket stitch around all the edges. The back of the bunny house is a double thickness of felt as I inserted a sheet of plastic canvas so the back would stand on its own. There is matching bric-a-brac trim sewn on the width strip and I fashioned a felt handle for the top to carry. Closures are velcro circles at the bottom third on each side and then there are white ribbon ( glittery) pieces that can tied into a bow. I cut felt flowers and these are glued onto the front for some happy decor. Wanted to add a few “special” things, so I sewed a felt pillow trimmed with lace so bunny can take a little nap–the fleece fabric has a pretty blue sky with white clouds and I pre-washed the fabric. I used hypoallergenic polyfil to stuff and some lace for trim. There is also a red chipwood basket with a carrot treat! (Carrot is orange twine and purchased from craft shop). The boy and girl bunnies are new –purchased items. Bunny is 9 1/2 inches high. The bunny house is 13 inches high and 13 inches wide and about 2 1/2 inches deep. These were so much fun to make–we started making these for kids in our families, but then a few of the adults requested a bunny house–we were delighted to continue!
