This silverplated footed and handled serving tray is most unusual in that is has a hollowed layer to place hot or cold water to heat or cool the tray. The tray has some very fancy design details that look Baroque. The oval shaped tray has a tree pattern of channels to catch and contain juice from a roast or other foods. We do not note the age or origin but given the design and wear on the bottom deduce it is fairly old. Approximate dimensions: 23″ excluding handled, x 18 1/2″, x 4″ high elevated by the feet. The ornate handles add another few inches. Weighs over 15 Lbs. 4 ozs. Though we polished it, there will be some patina and/or tarnish present.
