Item is a vintage, circa 1901-1910, 1” multi-colored celluloid advertising pinback button issued by the Winchester Arms Company advertising shotguns and shotgun shells. Text only pinback has the famous Winchester W centered on a black background with text surrounding. Reverse has original backpaper from Whitehead & Hoag with 2 copyright dates. Shown in Ted Hake’s “Price Guide to Collectible Pin-Back Buttons 1896-1996. Pinback itself is Very Good Plus to Excellent with strong color and no celluloid cracks or breaks. This is the 1” variety, not the more common 7/8” variety. NOTE: There is some spotting to the edges of the black perimeter that does not impact the lettering or logo. Reverse backpaper is Good Plus to Very Good with some staining as shown in the jpeg. Please look at the pictures prior to bidding/buying and please ask all questions prior to bidding/buying. Submission of a bid or purchase of the item is an acknowledgement on the part of the bidder/buyer that there is some spotting to the perimeter and some staining to the backpaper.
