Us, Fougasse, 1951 Methuen 1st edition hardback book DJ, cartoon/humour/art London: Methuen, 1951. This humorous cartoon book contains a further brilliant selection of Fougasse’s drawings for Punch – his impressions of Britain during the aftermath of war. The book is a small hardback, bound in yellow cloth boards with black illustration and title on the front and titling to spine, 91 pages. The book has clean, bright boards with a tiny mark and a little wear at spine tail;. Binding is very firm and sturdy with a little, almost invisible, archival tape strengthening the binding at front first joint. All now firm, clean and unmarked. with no inscription. The rare jacket is price-clipped and has some foxing and other markings and a few chips and archival tape inside to secure it. Some minor edge wear and small tears (neatly repaired with archival tape on the reverse side) but otherwise complete. Now looks quite good protected in a clear sleeve and small price clip. Good +/ Near Good. NOTE – it is difficult to get precise colour representation with camera. Please allow for this, and also for differences in individual monitors/screens.
