Umbrella Trees (Schefflera Arboricola) require a rich organic potting mix that drains quickly, and gets better as it breaks down its natural ingredients. Here we have combined what we believe to be the best ingredients to do just that. Our mix is a blend of peat moss, coarse sand, fir bark, perlite, worm castings, and lime (for pH balance). This substrate is perfect for growing healthy umbrella plants because it is well draining, rich in organic matter and humus, nutrient and water retentive, and provides aeration to roots. Often when purchased from box stores or online, Umbrella trees already need repotting, either due to growing too large, or being planted in cheap, sub-par soil.
