What you see is a vintage Hunter Robbins & Meyers “Reverseair” Original ceiling fan, complete with all pieces for installation and a schoolhouse light kit. Tested and working. These are some of the highest quality ceiling fans ever made, and will last a lifetime. This particular unit is from 1983. Overall condition is pretty good, but the tag is a bit scratched up. The fan has been repainted brown to mimic the factory chestnut brown finish. There is also a hum when the fan runs, however this is normal for these older models and can be reduced with rubber washers or an isolation ring if desired. The blade pitch can be manually reversed using these blade arms that are unique to Hunter Original’s of this era. See photos for condition, and please reach out with any questions you may have! IMPORTANT: These fans need to have oil in them to run properly. The fan will be shipped out with no oil to avoid spillage in transit, however before it is run again, oil needs to be added. Hunter Original fan oil can be bought here on eBay or directly from Hunter’s website. These fans are also very heavy, around 40lbs due to being made of cast iron, and need to be supported by drilling the ceiling hook into a wooden joist. NOTE: I am not responsible for any damage to the unit or injury caused by improper installation. If you have any doubts in your own ability to install a ceiling fan please consult a qualified electrician.
