You are buying a brand new Bowen Designs Marvel Comics Thanos limited edition statue. This fully painted statue will stand over 15 1/2 inches tall, sculpted by Randy Bowen & The Shiflett Brothers , comes ready to display, and is fully painted. This statue is brand new, never been removed from the box and never been displayed. Bowen indicates that this edition is sold out and allocated. As to the edition size, there may be 2000 or only 1500, but in any case due to the return of many of them back to Bowen, there are not more than 2000. NOTE:*** This edition is sold out at the factory level and due to paint and other post production factory problems is one of Bowen’s smaller runs. . We will depart from our usual policy and make a full inspection of the statue before sale and shipping. This statue has been inspected for any damage and paint problems and has a slight paint rub on the back of the neck where the statue fits into the styrofoam box . The statue is larger and heavier than usual and no doubt the rub resulted from the statue resting on the foam. .. This statue is from the first and original production run. We were told that we could return the initial release but we elected to keep our allocation from Bowen productions. We elected not to return our allocation back to Bowen as we were told that they were not sure if they were going to replace any statues that were returned to them. Poor Thanos, we understand that the current Thanos on the Throne version also has post production problems and also has been recalled. Thanos was one of the last sons of Alars, progenitor of the second colony of Eternals of Titan, and Sui-San, the last survivor of the original settlement of Eternals on Titan. Born with grey, hide-like skin and a massive body, Thanos was a morose child who became obsessed with the concept of death. By bionic implementation and long hours of meditation, Thanos augmented his Eternal strength and powers to that his powers surpassed those of all other Titanian Eternals. Thanos grew in power, and also grew in ambition and desire for conquest. Thanos stole one of his people’s starships and traveled to other star systems to recruit soldiers, mercenaries, and malcontents for a private army. With a small fleet he dropped nuclear devices on his home world Titan, killing thousands of his people, including his mother Sui-San. Declaring himself ruler of Titan. Thanos has had conflicts with Thor, Warlock, Silver Surfer , the Avengers and was the prime mover in the adventure the Infinity Gauntlet and many other adventures. He first appeared in Iron Man # 55.
