Fianna McCool and the Hound Of Ulster is an original comic made by father-daughter duo Steven Butler and Lily Butler. It is an epic all ages fantasy comic that draws its inspiration from ancient Celtic Mythology. Using an all-animal cast, it tells the story of Fianna McCool in her quest to free her beloved land of Emmrylor from the tyrannical grip of the evil red witch queen Maeve and the dark forces she controls. Fianna is aided in her quest by Koo-Kullen, the mighty hound of Ulster, who has his own score to settle with the witch queen, and who harbors a secret that gives Fianna a distinct advantage in her quest. Together, they set forth to rescue the villagers who have been enslaved by Queen Maeve and to reclaim the land they love. The themes explored in this work include the struggle to do what’s right in the face of dire opposition, responsibility to family and inheritance, and the power of a close friendship bond. While dealing with serious life and death issues, Fianna McCool and the Hound of Ulster is an all-ages comic that uses light-hearted humor to propel its narrative. It is written, penciled, and inked by Steven Butler, and inked, colored, and lettered by Lily Butler. This first issue was funded through Kickstarter in 2020, and was printed by KaBlam Digital Printing in Florida USA. Comic cover will come signed by Steven and Lily unless requested otherwise.
