You are looking at a Peugeot Sport edition of the 1:43 Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar of 2013 Le Mans Winner Loic Duval, Gustavo Menezes and Nico Muller from the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hour race – made by Spark Models (Product Ref: PEU23_MIN_9X8_C94) . Debuting at the 2022 6 Hours of Monza for the fourth round of the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship, the new Le Mans Hypercar and hotly anticipated Peugeot 9X8 broke cover with it’s unique style of aerodynamic set-up. Being not only the only Hypercar in the field not to have a rear wing spoiler, it also made use of ground effect aerodynamics, similar to Formula 1’s re-introduction of this style of aero in the same year. The car was developed further during the 2023 WEC season, with the marque making its return to the Le Mans 24 Hour race for the first time since 2011 with its 908 HDi FAP Diesel machine. Although the car struggled at aero dependent tracks, and qualified only 10th and 11th in the Le Mans Hypercar category for the race, it’s speed in a straight line made it a relative match at times, given the ground effect set up it had. The #94 Peugeot gave a great account of itself throughout the first half of the race, leading at many points along with Toyota, Ferrari and Porsche, and was leading the race up until the 11th hour, when a crash by Menezes caused extensive damage to the front of his 9X8, leading to an eight lap repair job and effectively taking the #94 out of the running for the win. Further lenghtly issues with the car saw the machine finish in 27th place overall and 30 laps down on the winning #51 Ferrari AF Corse 499P. The model features the Peugeot 9X8 car driven by Duval, Menezes and Muller at the 2023 Le Mans 24 Race at the Circuit De La Sarthe. This version of the model is a Peugeot Sport edition release from the team, and features the striking multi-coloured “Art” car livery designed by Spanish artist J.Demsky used on both the #93 and #94 9X8s, giving them a fittingly futuristic look. The model and box are both in new condition and comes with a cellophane sleeve for the outer box. Thanks for looking 🙂
