Spalding “Geneva” Antique Youth Tennis Racquet This racquet is from Jeanne Cherry’s Personal Collection c1905 26 1/4 inches long It is marked with a “ Geneva” gold decal in very good condition and gold “A. G. Spalding Bros” trademark logo in excellent condition on the throat. Solid Convex Wedge Orange finish with a chip in the orange finish. It is stamped “H ” on the shaft. The original antique natural gut strings are in place; however, two main strings are broken. There is orange trebling at the top. The frame has a nice finish with a light tan patina and is straight in excellent antique condition with some minor scuffs, nicks, and dirt. The original dark leather butt collar is in place. The handle is in good condition with horizonal light incised lines added from bottom to top to improve the grip, minor scuffs, scratches as well as black dirty areas that could be cleaned. The head has a nice oval shape with a square profile. This is an excellent example of a “Spalding Geneva” Antique Youth Tennis racquet from Jeanne Cherry’s personal collection.
