Offered for Sale is a set of 8 fruit forks in the 1870 multi-motif pattern Knickerbocker Etched pattern by Gorham. Each fork is 6 inches long, with 3 tines and acid etched fruit bearing pear branches on the handle wrapping around to the reverse. There is an original factory acid etched monogram on the the reverse. Specialized pieces like this were likely special order, and these fruit forks have fruit instead of flowers etched on the handle. This was a painstaking manual process that happened after the piece was stamped/cast. The entire handle was waxed. The artist then removed the wax to form the base of the design. It was then dipped in acid to remove the silver where the wax had been removed. Afterwards the rest of the wax was removed and details were engraved into the design. Each is marked with Sterling and the old Gorham Marks. I have knives in this pattern to put up at a later time as well. I usually send via USPS priority with delivery confirmation. I reserve the right to relist if I do not hear from the buyer within 3 days of my email or if payment has not been received within 10 days of first contact.
