I have for sale a 1933 medal that commemorates the start of the Santa Monica Breakwater in Santa Monica, California. This medal is aluminum, it is 1 1/2 inch in diameter and in uncirculated condition with field marks on the reverse. The medal was struck by the Los Angeles Rubber Stamp company. The obverse reads SOUVENIR BREAKWATER 1933 – SANTA MONICA, CALIF. In the center it shows aerial view of Breakwater, pier and yacht basin. The reverse reads SOUVENIR FROM CALIFORNIA’S PLAYGROUND – OCEAN PARK. In the center it shows a female on the beach and amusement park in the background. In tiny letters at the bottom rim it reads L.A.R.S. CO. 11. This medal is listed in the so called dollar catalog as number HK 687. Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables. (18,346)
