H I For sale is this hard to find Roseville sunflower vase / jardiniere. It is in very good to excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs (checked with black lite). One leaf has some black marks (factory flaw) – see last photo zoomed in with ruler – top of leaf on the left. There are bright yellow sunflowers encircling the entire vase, with light green leaves and curving stems reaching to the top. On a rustic brown background tapering downward in mottled greens and blue. Art & Crafts or Art Deco *** Sunflower features a repeating motif of a mature sunflower blossom on a curving stem, depicted in low relief against a textured background that blends from brown to green to blue. As a subject, the sunflower was also popular during the so called Aesthetic Period, a Japaneseque sub-genre of the Art Nouveau. Roseville’s Sunflower refers to this period by means of the curvaceous stems. Seen from a distance, the stylized round blooms create a pleasant geometrical pattern, in the spirit of Art Deco.
