3 inch pot with rooted healthy plant s shown in first few photos Mother plants shown in later photos Portulacaria afra ‘Red Stem’ , sometimes called Elephant Bush, is a tall-growing succulent species. It is native to South Africa, where it reaches up to 12′ tall and can be food for elephants! Features chunky, glossy green, paddle-shaped leaves growing on attractive, thick reddish-brown stems. The branches can be trained to grow upright or arching, making them useful in hanging baskets, succulent gardens , containers and especially bonsais. Over time, the plant will form into an upright shrub with a thick woody trunk. Truly a wonderful, dramatic vertical accent in a succulent garden! Provide a well-drained soil away from reflected heat. Requires little water once established. Ideal in warm climate landscapes, rock gardens and container gardens, but is especially happy sitting on your windowsill as a houseplant. Protect from frost! I guarantee your Crassula to thrive for you if you follow some simple directions: For now keep them in the grower pot until it is settled, In a few days you can put them in your own pot. Put them in the sunniest area you can Water them until they are soaked and water again when they start to get dry. They love a spray of water in between waterings. No need for fertilizer until they are ready to flower again Eventually you will have a beautiful plant like the last picture That’s it. Easy Peasy . Don’t fuss! Let them be for now. Sunshine, water and Love is all you need They are easy to propagate so when the stems are long you can just cut them and stick them in soil The more sun the more color they get, they will not die without sun but they will lose the purple or pink color and turn more green and yellow .
