Pair Western Electric 257A tubes. It is a small triode similar to the 231D except the grid is at the top. One important feature of the 257A is the low power consumption of the 3.1v filament. On a calibrated TV7 tester they test 17 & 16 with a minimum of 14, so a good strong working pair; Each tube has the glass blotchy–see close up pitcher. It has no effect on the performance of the tube. I have sold a number of Western Electric tubes over the years and for the next year or so will clear out most of of my remaining stock.
