T his listing is for an interesting metal tenor saxophone mouthpiece. It is hand etched “Prof. Fiorani”, and “Mo. DNA 913″ on the shank. From what I’ve been able to glean, this mouthpiece was handfaced by Franco Fiorani using a blank machined by Carlo Atti (both apparently well known saxophonists in Italy). The mouthpiece appears to be made of solid brass, with no plating. It has a very slim body, so you might need to do a little searching to find a ligature that will fit it. It has a high step baffle with a Berg Larsen style ‘bullet’ drop off. The tip opening measures .105” (equal to an Otto Link 7*). This is a very bright and powerful player. In my opinion, it would be best suited to rock, R&B, and similar styles. This mouthpiece is in excellent used condition. The tip, table, and rails are perfectly smooth. There are no dents or dings.
