Original Antique Civil War Print Brigadier General Nathanial Lyon’s Troops Leave Booneville, Missouri The Battle of Boonville, Missouri, was more like a skirmish, but it was an important event in the early days of the Civil War. Although casualties were extremely light, the battle’s strategic impact was far greater than one might assume from its limited nature. The Union victory established what would become an unbroken control of the Missouri River and helped to thwart efforts to bring Missouri into the Confederacy. (With help from Wikipedia) Print is in excellent condition. It is from ‘Harper’s Pictorial History of the Civil War’. There’s a portrait of Nathanial Lyon on the back side (see pic).
