Very rare album featuring beginnings of Cole’s magnificent career in proper jazz trio set up with magnificent musicianship, Cole shows mastery on ivories. These recordings date way back to 1939/40 and are taken from shellac masters since in those days that was the way music was recorded direct cut to shellac records , which means some surface noise , ticks etc are transferred on this record . However shellac sources used were the best available and sound is great considering rudimentary recording techniques of those days . Wonderful edition to any collector , jazz , Cole or goood music fan .
