Sky Lupine is a native to the Western U.S. found in the Steens Mountains in Oregon, Nevada, and California. It likes to grow on slopes and in open areas that have been disturbed. They are also below 4000 feet in elevation. It extends from 5 to 20 inches tall. The blue flowers with yellow or white spots come out in March and stay until May. It can be grown in most soils and prefers full sun. Annual Germination Rub seeds on sandpaper, breaking the outer coat. Soak seeds 24 hours in warm water. Sow seeds 3x their thickness and cover with soil. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover with plastic but maintain temperatures of 65-75F. Germination is in 7-30 days.
