No.7 couplers have an underset shank .050″ lower than a centered shank. This can be used for locomotives and car with low mounting platforms. The No.7 coupler has a short shank of 1/4″ from the back to the knuckle head to pivot post center. (4) No.16 Magne-Matic Couplers- kit contains two pair all metal couplers with two pair of insulating plastic draft gear boxes. This kit combines the long No.6 coupler shank with our short No. 7 draft gear box. This kit can be used on locomotives and cars where the couplers must extend far beyond the draft gear box.
