It is bonsai-like shrub with graceful narrow branches. The Elegans variety is particularly favored for bonsai due to its finely divided, elegant foliage, which creates a delicate and refined appearance. The plant can be shaped and pruned to maintain a miniature tree form, making it an excellent choice for bonsai enthusiasts. Ming Aralia is not only great air purifier and cleaner, but also can bring some aesthetic look to the interior. It is said that plant brings harmony, peace and balance. Growing conditions: – lighting: Ming Aralia needs to be placed into the spot with bright indirect sunlight. It can tolerate partial shade as well. – watering: the plant needs to be watered copiously. The soil needs to dry slightly out before the next watering. Ensure proper drainage to prevent root rot. Decrease the watering in winter to avoid over-saturation of soil. Use settled water only. – fertilizing: feed Ming Aralia with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 2-4 weeks during the growing season. If the leaves become yellowish or the plant starts losing foliage, the plant needs feeding. – nuances: Ming Aralia prefers high level of air humidity. To increase air humidity, the pot with the plant can be placed into the tray with moistened pebbles. Ming Aralia is misted periodically as well. The air temperature comfortable for the plant is between 65 and 85 °F, but don’t let it drop down for more than 60 °F. If the pot becomes too small for the plant, repot it each year; but if it is fine, it is recommended to repot the plant every other year as the plant is fast-growing one. If it is necessary to slow down the growth, Ming Aralia is repotted less often, with the change of topsoil only.
