History of the Miracle of the Lighting of the Candles every Easter . The Holy Fire is a miracle that occurs on the day preceding Orthodox Easter in which a blue light emanates within Jesus tomb. The enduring memory and symbolism of this marble material has persisted for over 15 centuries. The burial bed of Jesus is surrounded by the ornate shrine of the Aedicule (Edicule).
