You are bidding on a Hand Forged Large Toasting Fork made by Daniel Boone VI at Smyth Boone Blacksmith. At the end of the listing, I’ve added a short bio of the Boone Blacksmithing legacy. This beautiful piece of hand forged iron is of a Toasting Fork. The Fork features a heart shaped handle with a twisted design in the middle of the handle and has the embossed “D. Boone” mark at the end of the handle where the tongs of the fork meet. Measures: 21” long, 2 3/8” across the Heart handle, 2 ¼” across the top of the fork, 1 7/8” across the two tongs at the bottom of the fork & the fork alone is 5 3/8” I didn’t measure with the dip in the fork, just from top to bottom. The Hand Forged Toasting Fork is in EXTREMELY GOOD CONDITION – to me looks to have just been displayed. I will note that one of the tongs is longer that the other slightly. Looks to have been made that way. The embossed signature is very clear & easy to read. This is a gorgeous piece that would be an excellent addition to your collection or just a wonderful decorator piece – or use it as it was intended! Amazing estate find so don’t miss out! Good Luck!!! “Boone Blacksmith Legacy – According to family oral and written history, the Boone’s have been forging iron since the time of the Vikings tracing the family roots to Halfdan the Old, 600AD. Don Plummer, author of the book, The Boone Blacksmithing Legacy, 1991, has traced the blacksmith line back eighteen generations from the current smiths in the family; Dan Boone VII, Tom Boone, and M. Smyth Boone. Daniel Boone the famous American hero and explorer was a farrier blacksmith in George Washington’s army.” More information regarding the legacy of the Boone legacy can be found on their website.
