You can see in the 1st. photo that I’ve used an underset coupler trying to correct the probem and giving the freight car enough spacers using fiber washers to raise the car would require at least 10 fiber washers and probably more to adjust the coupler height up. When coupler height adjustment is out of range and the trip pin is getting caught because its too low I have like many used fiber washers to adjust the car higher. But using 4 or 6 fiber washers on each truck really gets expensive and time consuming as well as saving the cost of finding and installing underset couplers, so like many modelers I’ve taken to using these metal washers for less expense and less time. They also help correct an unstable lean on some models. You get 30 washers so you can correct up to 15 cars. The fiber washers, test track, coupler height gauge, box car & gondola, rulers, dime are for scale appreciation and ad example only they are not part of auction, ONLY THE 30 WASHERS ARE UP FOR AUCTION.
