This auction is for a custom made ground wire connection set, as pictured, complete with 3 different style end connectors. (The Communications receiver is part of my vintage Realistic Collection and is not included!) Most Shortwave/Communications receivers and many older AM/FM radios have a ground connection terminal and generally speaking , whenever this terminal is present, if connected to a proper ground, it will increase reception performance and/or remove significant static, making the broadcast easier to copy and enjoy. A good ground can be hard to find , but if you have an electrical outlet with a funtional ground terminal, this adapter will allow you to ground your radio and improve your listening experience. This is also great for apartment dwellers and those who travel and need an easy temporary grounding solution. What you will receive is: 1) A 4 foot long ground wire which is terminated on one end in a standard 3 prong electrical connector. On the other end is a crimped and soldered bullet connector. This is a quality 14 Gauge, Stranded Ground Wire. 2) A total of 3 different 1 foot long adapters which terminate in (a) an alligator clip (soldered) (b) a spade lug end (soldered) and (c) a tinned bare wire All connections are covered with heat shrink tubing. I have evolved the construction techniques used in this product and have used the best materials and terminals available. The currently shipped product is the exact product in the many photos accompanying this auction. These 3 options will allow you to use the ground wire with every radio out there. I have used this wire with excellent results on all of my Realistic Communications receivers including DX-100/DX-120/DX-150/DX-150a/DX-150b/DX-160/DX-200/DX-300/DX-302 and My Grundig Satellit 750 & Satellit 800 Radios. And use it on my service bench as well. You should always test the ground to confirm that your outlet is properly grounded, if the outlet has a defective ground, this device will not work and if there is a defective appliance or wiring in the system, the user could be exposed to unsafe voltage on the line!! Just pick the end you need for your radio ground terminal and attach it to the provided bullet connector, plug in the other end and start listening! In Some Radios and Circumstances it is possible to experience increased noise when grounded, so this is not a 100% proposition. So some experimenting/investigation may be in order. If increased noise is noted, you may have a bad house or outlet ground, or have defective filter capacitors in the power supply stage of the radio. 1 of my receivers which had increased noise was due to a bad capacitor in the power supply stage. I have had no reports of issues and all buyers are reporting very very favorable results! Many are purchasing additional kits for multiple radios after experiencing dramatic reduction in static noise. This is Also useful for Service Work or a Service Bench where a temporary ground can be very useful. In fact this was the source for my original idea as I needed a ground for servicing my radios ( I have since found references to a similar device in the B & K 1653 & 1655 Variable Isolation Transformer manual) My friends have encouraged me to offer this item via ebay as it has proven to be a useful addition to their listening stations and/or service areas. This item is my own brainchild and as simple as it is, I have never seen another or mention of it anywhere else.
