THE MOUSE SITS ON TOP OF THE BUN WITH A SPRING MECHANISM THAT WHEN THE BUN IS OPENED THE MOUSE RETURNS TO INSIDE THE BUN. RESTORING THE MOUSE TO THE OUTSIDE IS DONE MANUALLY WITH YOUR FINGERS – THIS IS HOW THE PIECE WAS CONSTRUCTED. THE CONTAINER IS IN SUPERB CONDITION AND THE MECHANISM WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. THE BUN IS PAPER MACHE. THE MOUSE HAS A FELT COVERING. THE PAINT ON THE BUN IS WONDERFUL. I REALLY CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS RARE GERMAN CANDY CONTAINER.
