From Passion to Peace by James Allen Estimated delivery 3-12 business days Format Paperback Condition Brand New Description The Pathway of the Saints and sages, the road of the wise and the pure; the highway along which the Saviors have trod, and which all Saviors to come will also walk-such is the subject of this book; such is the high and holy theme which the author briefly expounds in these pages.—James Allen Publisher Description Whatever may be said for creating works that give great narrative to inform, the truth is that sometimes less is more. In the tumultuous times we find ourselves, times of change and for many, uncertainty about the future, it is all too easy to let the appearances around us lead us to stress and confusion. In reality all we seek is peace and happiness, a life filled with joy and prosperity. Often the hardest part of the journey for many is knowing what we really want, finding something to truly aspire to. Without inner peace, the outer circumstances of our lives never become all that we know they should be, the deep pains from our past, or the simple slights that nag at our calm, stay and hold us back. Through transcendence they fall away and life takes on that magical quality that so few find, inner peace and serenity. He was a philosophical writer known for his inspirational books and poetry. At the age of 15 his father, a businessman, was robbed and murdered so he had to leave school to work full-time in several British manufacturing firms to help support the family. At the age of 38 he retired from employment to become a full time writer. Allen – together with his wife Lily and their daughter, Nohra – moved to a small cottage in Ilfracombe, Devon, England to pursue a simple life of contemplation. There he wrote for nine years, producing 19 works. He also edited and published a magazine, “The Light of Reason”. His most famous book, As a Man Thinketh, is now considered an all time classic self-help book. Its underlying message is that noble thoughts make a noble person, while lowly thoughts make a miserable person. Allen died in 1912 at the age of 47.
