Specially tailored for Central and Northern Utah but will work well throughout most of the West. Moderate to very fast draining soil is best. This is full of wildflowers native to Utah’s dry mountains and hot deserts, with early and late season bloomers for fragrant beauty March-November. Each packet will cover approximately 250 square feet. Max coverage is about 400-500 sq ft but the mix is formulated for healthy density at 200-250 sq ft. All perennials except for Desert Sand Verbena which will reseed heavily and return annually. Pale Evening Primrose, Oenothera pallida Palmer’s Penstemon, Penstemon palmeri Sand Verbena Desert, Abronia villosa Sand Verbena Snowball, Abronia fragrans Silver Lupine, Lupinus albifrons Swamp Milkweed, Asclepias incarnata Yarrow Pastel, Achillea millefolium Yarrow Western, Achillea millefolium All of the plants are native to Utah, except the Silver Lupine, which is native to California and Oregon. Plant this mix where you like to ‘Chill-Out’ to enjoy the fragrant blooms and get a close up of the pollinators that this will attract, like hummingbirds, native bees, hummingbird moths, Monarchs and other butterflies. The shrub add on includes drought tolerant shrubs that will add color and more fragrance. If shrubs are selected, the below varieties are not included in sq. footage but just as an addition to the current mix. Low Sagebrush, Artemisia arbuscula Nevada Ephedra, Ephedra nevadensis Utah Serviceberry, Amelanchier utahensis Additional drought tolerant species that would look nice in this mix are Utah Sweetvetch, Apache Plume, Sheep Fescue, Mtn.
