It was designed to replace the earlier generation AMES E Tool. The Gerber E-Tool is made with a steel blade and a glass-filled nylon handle with an anodized shaft making this shovel lighter weight and durable. Just like the earlier military entrenching tool, it folds in 3 ways to be compact and fit into a MOLLE shovel cover. These “folding shovels” were primarily used to dig defensive positions like foxholes and trenches. Compact yet reliable tri-fold shovel for camping, survival, car trunk, bugout tool…… Today E-Tools have become an indispensable part of every outdoorsman or prepper’s kit. This device is not only good for digging holes and clearing out campsites; you can also use them in a number of ways.
