Letters of E. D. W. Gilman Author: Gilman, Elisabeth Dwight Woolsey Title: Letters of E. D. W. Gilman Publication: (Baltimore): Privately Printed at the Waverly Press, 1911 Edition: First printing Description: Hardcover. Privately printed, 1911, likely Baltimore. 8vo, suede spine, cloth boards, 74 pp., handsomely printed on handmade paper with frontispiece of the author, inscription from the author’s daughter, also Elisabeth, to her aunt Laura, Christmas 1911. Slight splitting to front inner hinge else very good. The author lived in Baltimore (1839-1910) on Saratoga St., and while we find these letters singularly dull, they provide a glimpse into Baltimore society in the 1880s-early 1900s. RARE. 13 copies OCLC. Very Good.
