This listing is for 1 new dial indicator mount. The mount ONLY the dial indicator is NOT included. This is a setup I use to save time. The dial indicator stays on the mount, and the mount always stays set up and ready to go in a dedicated, quick change tool holder. This is a rugged heavy duty mount. It is custom milled from a single piece of 1″ thick, solid cold rolled steel. Made right here in the USA and hand finished. The measurements are approx 2″ tall, 2″ wide, 1/2″ thick, 1″ thick at the top where there is a 1/2″x1/2″ back lug projection, so it should fit all the AXA tool holders as well. The indicator mounting post is 6061 aluminum. It is approx 5/8″ diameter x 1-1/4″ long and is threaded 1/4″-20 straight thru it’s length. It’s short length makes this a very rigid and accurate mount for your indicator. The back of the indicator mount has a slotted pocket so the allen head cap screw sits recessed and flush with the mount. This slot, allows the indicator mounting post to travel up or down on the mounting bracket giving it approx an additional 15/16″ of height adjustment. Along with the typical 1″ of height adjustment on a quick change tool holder, this mount should fit almost every set up encountered with a BXA or AXA toolpost. I use this on my 12×36 with a BXA QCTP and a dedicated tool holder. On my setup the center of the indicator post is set 1″ down from the top of the indicator mount. That position, places my 5/8″ BXA tool holder in the center of my BXA tool post. This is a great way to save setup time. Buy another tool holder and dedicate it to this mount along with your indicator. After the tool holder height and mount are set up, that’s it. The indicator is always set on center and ready to go. Once it is adjusted, it stays adjusted. If you do a lot of work with a 4 jaw chuck, this mount is a must. It will take you less than 5 seconds to install or remove your new toolholder and mount. Once you use this mount you will stop using those flimsy long adjustable indicator rods that flex all over the place and seem to take forever to get set up. I can’t remember the last time I dragged my magnetic base out. This mount is so easy and fast to use you will find yourself indicating almost everything.
