I am a grower and collector of Datura and its seeds. This is a rather unusual one with purple markings through the center and 4-5 inch upward facing flowers. It has been said this flower was hybridized although I found it growing 20 years ago wild when I first gathered seeds. It doesn’t have a huge showy flower as some other daturas. Nonetheless it makes a nice specimen and has beautiful purple stems with flowers turning more lilac with age. All parts of Datura plants contain dangerous levels of poison and may be fatal if ingested by humans or other animals, including livestock and pets. In some places it is illegal to buy, sell or cultivate.
