Cryptostegia grandiflora is a woody-perennial vine in the Apocynaceae family. Its common name is the rubber vine. A native to southwest Madagascar. It is also a significant weed in northern Australia. It grows to 15 feet long in shrub form in partial shade. If provided with something to grow on, it can reach 30 feet long. It is in bloom from late winter to mid-spring. The heavily scented blooms are 2-3 inches long with purple stripes on the outside, while the rest of the flower is a bright white.
