I chose this variety for the absolutely delicious flavor. At 20,000 SHU (Scolville heat units), these peppers are extremely similar in taste to a typical cayenne, just a little less spicy. And much more delicious, in my opinion. This was the 2012 All America Selections winner. My absolute favorite way to use them is to put them on the smoker for 12 or so hours to infuse them with smoke flavor. Then I grind them in a coffee grinder with sea salt and garlic powder. I put that combination in a shaker and it’s delicious on EVERYTHING. These will also make an EXCELLENT hot sauce. The plants themselves are really great. Very vigorous, high yielding, disease resistant and particularly resistant to cool weather. These are 100% organic. These were grown and harvested in my garden by my hands. Right here in the USA.
