COMPETITOR EYEDROPPER FOUNTAIN PEN BCHR 14K NIB I’ve never heard of this brand, but it’s clearly stamped on the barrel which is in amazing condition for its age which I would estimate by its design to be between 1890 and 1910. The chasing is almost perfect as is the company stamping on the barrel. The nib…well, that’s another story. It is clearly marked 14k Gold. At first, I doubted this based on the look of it, the crusty ink, or whatever it is covering up the markings. With a little rubbing with SemiChrome polish and I got down to the metal surface and behold it looks like it could be solid gold. I didn’t clean it completely and it probably will need some sort of bath to unloosen the remaining dirtiness. The nib appears to have its iridium as shown in two of the photos, but the writing sample felt scratch, or at least not smooth. Overall, I would rate this pen in A-1 condition with the exception of the nib. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the nib a 3.5 in its current condition, with 10 being the best. However, with a little love and care I think it could be a 9! I ship all items by USPS unless valued over $1000. Thanks for looking/reading
