CHIMNEY-TOP DAMPER for WOOD FIREPLACE, REPLACE INTERNAL DAMPER ENERGY SAVINGS OVER $200/Yr COVER the TOP of your CHIMNEY Use this Chimney-Top Fireplace Damper 9 ” x 13″ (other sizes available) made of Stainless Steel to replace your old, wood-burning, internal, cast-iron damper that is metal to metal contact, rusty, no rubber gasket, extremingly inefficient. Cable comes in 30 foot length. Research studies have proven that chimney-top dampers containing a rubber seal can save homeowners at least $200/yr or more. The rubber gasket seal is made of silcon rubber (see red colored silicon rubber gasket in picture). The damper seats tight so no heat or air conditioning gets lost up your chimney. It also seals out rain which can deteriorate the inside of your chimney and it prevents entry by pests like squirrels, raccoons, and nesting birds. It is operated by a small chain-linked cable that drops down your chimney cavity and attaches to a bracket (see picture) where you can reach it for convenient opening and closing. A Stainless Steel Wire-mesh Platform Cap is availble for $150 more (see second picture to the right) to fit around the damper of your choice. Also note a Sweep Ring Spacer (see last picture) is available for easy damper removal and costs another $50 and is placed underneath between the damper bottom and the chimney top. The Spacer is permanently attached to the chimney top and the damper screws (or unscrews) into the top of the spacer, thus you can remove the damper for chimney sweep cleaning.
