And sound mirror, which has been in charge of recording for many well-established recording labels such as REFERENCE RECORDINGS, PENTATONE, BIS, etc. for over 40 years, has teamed up to release the popular “Pittsburgh Live!” series. The 14th installment in the series is Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and works by Czech composer and Holocaust victim Erwin Schulhoff. Manfred Honeck has been the principal conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra since 2008. Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 is a memorable work that he performed during his first collaboration with the troupe in 2006, before he took office. It’s a masterpiece that is packed with masterpieces, but Honeck says that since their first collaboration, he has reviewed and researched the score many times before taking on the challenge of performing this time. From the deeply emotional expressions to the harsh brass, the performance created a clear contrast, and the exhilaration of the music and the sense of unity between the orchestra and conductor made for a wonderful performance. The coupling Schulhoff’s Five Pieces for String Quartet is an orchestral arrangement by Honeck and Tomáš Ill. Many of Schulhoff’s works were influenced by jazz, and this piece, composed in 1924, is one of his most frequently performed works. Schulhoff ended his life at the age of 48 in a concentration camp due to the rise of the Nazis. king international Shipping We only ship to the registered address in (Paypal / ebay).
