Up for sale is a gorgeous authentic Brand New HERMÈS Le Jardin de la Maharani 100% Silk Carre scarf. This scarf was designed by Annie Faivre and issued as part of Spring Summer 2017 collection. This design features the motives from the Indian art all coming together as a beautiful garden in full bloom. This stunning scarf is titled, featuring Hermès logo, copyright, and the artist’s signature; the edges are hand rolled, and the original Hermès care tag is attached. The scarf comes in the original Hermès orange box with tissue paper. Condition: Brand New (without Tags). The scarf was purchased at the Hermès boutique in New York, and is guaranteed to be authentic. It has never been worn or used and comes in the original Hermès orange box with tissue paper. The fabric is crisp with the original folds and drapes beautifully; the edges are plump and full, and the original care tag is attached. The Story Behind (as told in the Hermès catalog): Freely inspired by Mughal motifs, this scarf is dedicated to the Maharai of Jaipur, born Princess Gayatri Devi of Cooch Behar, the third wife of the Majaraja Sawai Man Singh II. Her tastes and culture were equally inspired by India and Europe. She marked her time through her political engagement and her determination to bring education to Indian women. At the beginning of the 1940s, she created the girl’s school that bears her name. Twenty years later she became a Member of Parliament, elected by the largest majority in Indian history. The Majarani of Jaipur loved nature and gardens. With this scarf, Annie Faivre wanted to pay homage to her by “offering her flowers”.
