1984 Basso Gap racing bike, Columbus steel frame, with Campagnolo Nuovo Record drivetrain including front and rear mech, shifters, seatpost, and hubs. Brakes and levers are Modolo Speedy with new Kool Stop brake pads. Bike has been overhauled within the last year, so all new grease, cables, tires, bar tape. These tires, Clement LCV have less than 100 miles on them and are high end 240tpi tires that are super supple and grippy. It’s a rare and unique Italian made Eroica bike. Basso Bikes is an Italian brand that produces and sells road racing bicycles founded in 1977 by Alcide Basso, brother of the world champion Marino Basso. Patent date on the NR Rear Mech is 1983, so this would be a 1984 model. Current stem is a Cinelli 110mm. This is my absolute favorite riding bike, the Columbus steel frame is responsive and fast but is forgiving enough on local roadways. I have read that Basso used the Columbus SP tube set to construct this bike. The bike is an absolute pleasure to ride.
