Aristolochia manshuriensis, also called Manchurian Birthwort, is a deciduous climbing vine native to East Asia. It flaunts large, velvety heart-shaped leaves and unusual maroon-brown flowers. These flowers, resembling a curved pipe, give rise to its common name. Growing well in fertile, well-draining soil, it thrives in partial to full shade. Zones 7-9 Germination To germinate Aristolochia manshuriensis seeds, start by preparing a seed starting tray or small pots filled with a well-draining seed starting mix, such as a combination of peat moss and perlite.
