The outer surface of the flower is mottled with maroon, purple, and cream patterns, providing an eye-catching appearance. Inside, the flower has a darker, velvety texture and a scent that attracts pollinators like flies, which become temporarily trapped, aiding in the pollination process. The plant prefers well-drained, moist soils and thrives in warm, humid conditions, making it well-suited to tropical and subtropical regions.
