This piece is a true testament to the craftsmanship of the era, featuring intricate carvings and detailed embellishments that are sure to impress. Features: Carved Crest: The bench features a carved crest adorned with scrolling leaf tips, flanked by foliate spray finials. Beneath the crest is a band of carved vinery, adding to the piece’s intricate detailing. Detailed Back Panel: The back panel is carved in deep relief, depicting Elizabethan-attired busts alternating with plumed armor helmets, military shields, and coats of arms. Armrests & Seat: The armrests are carved with Satyr’s head grips, centering a hinged plank seat that opens to reveal a storage well, providing both functionality and style. Base Decoration: The base is adorned with four winged griffins or gargoyles centering an urn, resting on a molded base raised on scrolled feet. Specifications: Overall Size: 65 inches wide by 23 inches deep with a height of 52 inches. Condition: The bench retains its original dark surface, showing some signs of wear consistent with its age. There is a loss of beading on the right side, repairs to the central crest, and general wear throughout within normal parameters.
