Hollyhocks – possibly the most beautiful and abundant flower there is! Perennial – will return year after year. 75 Hollyhock seeds per package. Seeds sowed and packaged by hand from 11 foot hollyhock plants that have produced many offspring. Colors include medium pink and deep purple/black (please specify if you want a specific color when ordering). Direct sow in fall for flowering plants in the following spring. Direct sow in spring (after soil temperatures reach 55 degrees and no threat of frost) for flowering plants the following spring. Shallow sow – move dirt slightly and cover the seeds lightly. ~1 week until seed sprout. Water 3 times a week until established. Indoor sow and transplant outdoors after threat of frost ensuring enough room between plants (~1 foot) as plant base is large and leafy. Plants will grow the tallest in full sun (6+ hours of direct sun per day). Plants will tolerate partial sun (less than 6 hours sun per day) but will not be as tall, or hardy. Hollyhocks will tolerate almost any kind of dirt and water schedule (but do not do well in sitting water). They are fantastic pollinators and will attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Each flower bud produced will dry up and produce a seed pod with around 20-30 seeds each. They are a beautiful addition to any garden/yard!
