( see my other crepe myrtle varieties ) It has 5-9″ long inflorescences (panicles) of light lavender flowers from mid-summer to early fall. Flowers give way to round seed capsules which often persist well into winter. Features dark green foliage (bronze tinged when young) turning dull orange to dark red in fall . Cinnamon to gray bark which exfoliates with age and terminal, crepe-papery . In the South, this cultivar can easily be grown as a woody shrub or small tree with a maximum size of 13′ tall and 9′ wide. Zone : 6 to 9 Height: 2.00 to 12.00 feet Spread: 2.00 to 12.00 feet Bloom Time: July to September Bloom Description: Light lavender Medicinal use of Crepe Myrtle: The stem bark is febrifuge, stimulant and styptic. The bark, flowers and leaves are considered to be hydrogogue and a drastic purgative. A paste of the flowers is applied externally to cuts and wounds. The root is astringent, detoxicant and diuretic.
