1951 Lionel Trains 2163WS Outfit with boxes and more! The 2163WS steam freight set is a historic set. Lionel used this set to introduce the upgraded 726 Berkshire, with Magna-Traction and a new number, 736. Components: Standard components of this set include: 736 Steam locomotive 2671WX Tender 6462 New York Central gondola with six wooden barrels 6472 Refrigerator car 6465 Sunoco Tank car 6457 Lionel Lines caboose Plus : 0 gauge track, UCS track, smoke pellets. 2163WS Set box has all labels present, including the 1951 OPS price adjustment tag. Unfortunately the box is covered in clear box tape and has some old handwriting on it. The cardboard is somewhat soft instead of ridged. All (4) end flaps are present. In my opinion the 1950-51 2163WS set box itself is hard to find in any condition. Wonderful 1951 3-window cab 736 locomotive. Original cab numbering. Operates forward and reverse with a rebuilt E-unit and modern wiring (tested). Looks to have all the correct screws throughout chassis. Headlight works. Smoke unit works with smoke pellets. Could use a cleaning. Ornamental bell, whistle, and original handrails present. Original hexagon base flagstaffs on cowcatcher. Original boiler door (without headlight support wedges) and bezel. Boiler has blue and red marker jewels. One boiler door hinge pin (lower) is a replacement. Boiler headlight glass has slight hairline crack. Drive wheel hardware is nice and complete. Original die-cast front and rear trucks. Strong magnet for magne-traction capability. Cab roof is nice, no bends or sign of repair. Original Lionel instruction decal affixed to interior cab roof. 1951 736 Master box is in very good condition, no locomotive cardboard insert. The 2671WX Lionel Lines 12-wheel tender lettering is excellent. Whistle works, would benefit from some lubrication. All steps are present without repairs. Both screw mounting holes are in good condition without shell cracks. 2671WX Tender box is rough, missing all end flaps. The 6462 black NYC Gondola is in very good condition. Missing the simulated brake wheel. Has (6) original wooden Lionel barrels. Gondola box is present with loose flaps on one end and tape re-enforced flaps on the other end. The 6465 Sunoco Tanker needs some cleaning. Tanker is slightly wobbly on the frame. Decals are all present. Tanker box is in good condition with all flaps present. The 6472 Refrigerator car is in good condition. Brake wheel present. Both sets of doors work with all door springs present. White paint shows signs of use and could use some cleaning. Refrigerator box is in good shape. Both end flaps are present as are some of the inner flaps. The 6457 Caboose is in very nice condition. Light works. Caboose box is in fair condition, missing part of one end inner flaps. Outfit includes: Track lock-on clip Original smoke pellet bottle (near empty) with cracked plastic cap (8) O gauge curved track (makes one full circle) (7) straight O gauge track (1) UCS Remote track uncoupler (untested) with box (box is missing flaps). Remote needs re-wiring. Freight and tender couplers were not tested for electronic uncoupling function. All couples appear to be in excellent working condition. Locomotive headlight and Caboose light work but I cannot guarantee the fragile lightbulb filaments due to movement during postal shipping. Photos are part of description and should represent condition. Ebay permits a maximum of 24 photos. Items will be well packed and may take me a day or two after sale to securely pack the items.
