Gents 1961 IWC 853 jumbo automatic wristwatch in 18ct yellow gold case The watch is in working condition but being sold as spare/repair as I cannot guarantee timekeeping the dial has a few marks Please take a look at the pictures also happy to send more if required Here’s some interesting info I found on IWC’s ingenious Pellaton winding system Albert Pellaton, IWC’s technical director in-era, engineered the calibre 853 to transfer power from a bi-directional rotor straight to the mainspring, much more efficient than other automatics of the time with their gear trains and often uni-directional winding. A handful of modern IWCs still utilize it.
