1869 2C PIECE SCARCE REPUNCHED DATE WITH SPIKED 6 SCARCE VARIETY Some scratches on OBV, priced accordingly. Photo of late stage with spikey 6, repunched 1 easy to see in person slight magnification. Die break thru date, including a spike at base of 6, lesser one on base of 8. This used to be called an 1869/8 overdate because the lower loop of the 9 is connected to upper loop, but is now referred to as a repunched date since there is no evidence of an 8 and the other digits appear recut, with 1 double punch at base slight magnification.
